Preservation Coalition of Erie County (Home Page)
Spring 1999....TABLE of CONTENTS.....Vol. 22 No 3

This is a special issue of the Preservation Report focusing on preservation planning. We offer here some ideas based on broad public concerns regarding architecture and urban planning, but also the old chestnuts of fair play, thrift, and egalitarianism.
As someone who attends his share of What- this- city- needs- is- a- master- plan-! orations from the lips of various ci vic sages. Well and good, but how come, when it comes to that person's pet project, it's, hey-Don't -Include- My- Baby- in- your- plans (-even- though- it's- your- money- I'm- fixin'- to spend). The DIMB people have led Buffalo down the primrose path for some time.
So, we are including some of those babies in this issue to show that, with aa little sympathy for one's fellows, one can have a cake and eat one, too. Follow our magic formula, and you can build better, faster, and cheaper.
Further, we want to demonstrate the broad range of issues the Coalition and it's members are involved in.
We also want to demonatrate that we can actually get the Preservation Report out. We've hoarded some savings over the last year to bring yuo a color issue of 12 pages. We hope you like it and will contribute with unprecedented generosity to make it possible more often.
Remember, There Is Another Way.
And, yes, it is the road less traveled. But with your help, not for long.
